Black Knight Studio (“we”, “us”) makes the iPhone apps listed on this page and runs this website. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Apps are published on the App Store under the developer name Yen Nguyen Thi Hai.

This policy covers our apps on the Apple App Store and this website. Apple handles App Store downloads and in-app payments under its own privacy policy; we never receive your payment card details.

This website doesn't use cookies, doesn't ask you to sign in, and doesn't show ads.

We don't run analytics on this website.

The site is served by Firebase Hosting. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

Each app collects different things. The table below summarizes them; select an app for the full list of what stays on your device, what is sent for processing and to whom, the permissions it asks for, and how to delete your data.

For Capword, Tube Summary and AI Speech & Translation, the summary follows the app's App Store privacy label. For the other apps, it is based on our own review of the app's code.

We use service providers to run parts of our apps, such as crash reporting, cloud storage, AI processing and in-app purchase management. They process data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms. Across our apps, these are: Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring, Firebase Remote Config, RevenueCat, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions for Firebase, Firebase App Check, Cloud Storage for Firebase, Google Vertex AI (Gemini), Deepgram, Google AdMob and Open Food Facts. Each app's page lists exactly which ones it uses, with links to their policies.

AI Meeting Notes, Safe QR, Capword, Tube Summary and AI Speech & Translation show ads. Ad networks receive advertising identifiers and ad interactions, and, if you allow tracking, may use them to personalize ads across other companies' apps and websites.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

• Contract — to provide the features you use, such as transcribing a recording you submit, looking up a barcode, or restoring an in-app purchase.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the apps working, secure and improving: crash reports, performance diagnostics, aggregate usage analytics, app integrity checks and answering your support emails. Where local law requires consent for any of this, we ask for it.
• Consent — for tracking and personalized advertising, which happen only if you allow them in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and for optional permissions such as location. You can withdraw consent at any time in iOS Settings.
• Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

EEA and UK (GDPR and UK GDPR)

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to receive it in a portable format, to restrict or object to how we use it (including use based on legitimate interests), and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.

California and other US states (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing”. We don't sell personal information for money. Apps that show ads and use tracking may involve “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, turn off tracking for the app in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or choose “Ask App Not to Track” when prompted. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

How to make a request

Email support@blackknight-studio.app and tell us which app you use. Because most of our apps don't have sign-in accounts, we may ask for details that help us find the data linked to your install. We reply within one month (or 45 days where US state law applies).

Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them, consistent with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Where a higher age of digital consent applies in your country, the same applies up to that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email support@blackknight-studio.app and we'll delete it.

Our service providers may process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. When personal data from the EEA or UK is transferred elsewhere, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

• Data stored only on your device stays there until you delete it or delete the app.
• Data linked to an anonymous account (for example notes or submitted question challenges) is kept until you delete the account in the app or ask us to delete it.
• Analytics, crash and performance data is kept for the retention periods set in our providers' tools, then deleted.
• Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you, and then deleted.
• We keep information longer only where the law requires it.

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we'll give notice in the affected app or on this page before it takes effect.
